Introduction

This scholarship is for candidates with excellent academic records as well as achievements showing special abilities during their studies at high school or at VNUK.

1. Scholarship Value
  • Merit scholarships are awarded annually in the form of tuition fee exemption/reduction of the training majors that students are studying;
  • The scholarship is worth 25 – 100% of the tuition fee from 01 semester to a maximum of 02 academic years;
  • Students can participate in 1-2 skills training courses at the Professional Skills Training Center in the first two years;
  • Students are invited to apply for the first-year leadership program or the Institute’s student ambassador program.
2. Requirements for scholarship consideration
For candidates who are applying for admission to VNUK
  • 12th-grade students are matriculated to 01 training program at the Institute;
  • Have an IELTS score of at least 6.0 as for Natural Sciences students and at least 6.5 as for Social Sciences students;
  • Commit to completing training programs at the Institute or participating in dual-degree transfer programs of the Institute with official partners of the Institute.
For students studying at VNUK
  • Commit to pay tuition fees on time for their previous academic years;
  • Not failing any course in the list of registered courses in the most recent semester;
  • Complete at least 80% of the total number of courses specified in the list of standard courses of the previous school year;
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4
  • Get IELTS score of 6.0 as for Natural Sciences students or 6.5 as for Social Sciences students (in the International Examination) OR get 6.5 for Natural Sciences and 7.0 for Social Sciences (in Mock test)
  • Commit to completing training programs at VNUK or participating in dual-degree transfer programs with official partners of VNUK.

3. Criteria for consideration and grant of scholarships
For candidates who are applying for admission to VNUK
  • Application for scholarship: Application form for scholarship; Letter of motivation, Personal achievements, Profile of extracurricular activities; 
  • IELTS certificate;
  • Result of admission at VNUK.
For students studying at VNUK
  • The cumulative GPA in the previous academic year;
  • IELTS certificate (or Mock test organized by VNUK);
  • Scholarship application: Scholarship essay (no more than 700 words); Introducing letter; Achievements; Certificate of participation in extracurricular activities on and off the campus.
  • Personal qualities (evaluated through an interview with the Scholarship Review Board).    
4. Requirements for maintaining the scholarship in the 2nd semester
  • Complete a minimum of 12 credits per semester for the duration of the scholarship (for a 2-semester year) and 10 credits per semester (for a 3-semester year).
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4. The scholarship recipient must refund part or all of the scholarship if this requirement is not met. 
  • Participate in at least 03 (three) communication activities for the Institute and for the granted scholarship, including posting articles, videos, participating in enrollment counseling sessions, scholarships, networking events.
5. Dossier for scholarship consideration
  • Scholarship application form and letter of motivation (approximately 700 words).
  • IELTS certificate;
  • Study records in the previous academic year for VNUK students and admission results for candidates who are applying for admission to VNUK;
  • Copies of achievements and certificates of extracurricular activities (do not need to be notarized);
  • Letter of Recommendation from a high school teacher for 12th grade students or a letter of recommendation from a teacher that the student has studied or worked with within the past 1 year

Note: Candidates may provide the referrer’s email address; The Institute will send a link for the referrer to fill in the introduction content. Applicants do not ask for a direct letter from the recommender.
