Viện Nghiên cứu và Đào tạo Việt-Anh, Đại học Đà Nẵng (VNUK) là một trong bốn dự án của Chính phủ Việt Nam nhằm mục tiêu quốc tế hóa giáo dục đại học bao gồm Đại học Việt – Pháp (Đại học Công nghệ Hà nội USTH), Đại học Việt Đức, Đại học Việt – Anh (VNUK) và Đại học Việt Nhật. VNUK được thành lập trên cơ sở hợp tác giữa hai chính phủ Việt Nam và Anh quốc.
VNUK được thành lập vào tháng 10/2014 và theo lộ trình, VNUK sẽ trở thành trường Đại học Quốc tế Việt – Anh trong giai đoạn 2. Vì vậy, tháng 10/2019, Hội đồng Đại học Đà Nẵng đã cho ý kiến và thống nhất chủ trương thành lập Trường Đại học Quốc tế, Đại học Đà Nẵng trên cơ sở nâng cấp Viện VNUK. Để thực hiện chủ trương này, hiện nay VNUK đang trong quá trình chuẩn bị về cơ sở vật chất và đội ngũ giảng viên, nhà nghiên cứu để có đủ điều kiện đề xuất Chính phủ cho phép thành lập Đại học Quốc tế thuộc Đại học Đà Nẵng.
Với sự hỗ trợ của các Đại học uy tín của Vương quốc Anh cùng các tổ chức chính phủ như Đại sứ quán Anh Việt Nam, Lãnh sự quán Anh, Hội đồng Anh Việt Nam, trong 6 năm qua, VNUK đã không ngừng tập trung vào phát triển sản phẩm giáo dục cốt lõi – nghiên cứu và đào tạo – đáp ứng nhu cầu không ngừng thay đổi của xã hội. VNUK đã và đang liên tục phát triển mạnh mẽ, định hướng trở thành một cơ sở giáo dục đại học theo chuẩn quốc tế với môi trường làm việc năng động, truyền cảm hứng. Trong giai đoạn 2021-2025, VNUK tiếp tục nỗ lực, chuyển mình trở thành một trường đại học đạt chuẩn quốc tế, trở thành một hợp điểm tri thức (knowledge hub) tại khu vực miền Trung Việt Nam. Vì vậy, chúng tôi đang cố gắng thay đổi từng ngày cả về chất và lượng trong câu chuyện vận hành, trong đó có việc phát triển một môi trường làm việc cởi mở, bình đẳng, và hỗ trợ cho sự phát triển của mỗi cá nhân.
